Country Gal

I'm just a simple country gal
And full of country praise,
For country music, country sound,
And wholesome country ways.

I grew up on country music,
As Hank Williams sang the blues,
And if I'm given a choice now,
I will not change my views.

There was Bill Monroe, and Ernest Tubbs,
And Patsy Cline as well,
The Carters and old Johnny Cash,
Could really ring my bell!

And when I milked the cows each day,
I gave them all a treat,
They listened to the songs I loved,
And that I thought were neat.

I'm just a simple country gal,
Who's set in country ways,
I'm proud to say that I will be
Just like this all my days.
