'What is a friend?' I hear you ask,
'And what can a friend do?'
It's the person that you love and trust,
Who is always there for you.

There is nothing in the whole wide world,
That really can compare,
With the feeling that enfolds you
By having friends who care.

And even though it may be,
That they live far away,
You can hear the laughter in their voice
In funny things they say.

They can even share the bad times,
And tears not held in check,
And make you feel all better
With a hug around your neck.

What is a friend?  It's the person who
Is quick to show they care,
Whether in the best or worst of times,
A 'Friend' is always there.
