Treasured possessions,
That grew through the years...
Some bought with a smile,
Some acquired with tears.
But all of them packed,
And stored all this time...
Snuggled in tissue,
Yet easy to find.
There's a framed wedding photo,
Two young smiling faces...
That traveled all over,
Lived in many places.
A cradle in the attic,
From an era long past...
Handmade with love,
To ensure it would last.
The China once set out,
For special occasions...
When family gathered,
Without reservations.
Now all of these treasures,
Will be tossed, thrown away...
As a new generation,
Gives birth to new day.
