When I awoke
this morning,
To sunshine and
new dawn...
The pillow where
you laid your head,
Untouched,
because you're gone.
No longer can I
spend some time,
Just watching as
you sleep...
Feel your
warmth, wrap you with love,
You were not
mine to keep.
It's like you
were on loan to me,
To enjoy while I
could...
Those were the
very best of times,
So special and
so good.
But like all
things that are just loaned,
What's left now
that you're gone?
A wealth
of feelings that haunt me,
In memory and in
song.
