The services
were over,
The people had
all gone,
My life lay all
in pieces...
Yet I must move
along.
I walked through
rooms now empty,
Yet I feel his
presence there,
His coat hung on
it's hanger...
His slippers by
his chair.
The machine that
kept him breathing,
Stands silent
and at rest,
Now that it's no
longer needed...
It
still had done its' best.
I touched the
chair that was his own,
Last Christmas
gift from me,
Through eyes
that fill and over-flow...
Until I cannot
see.
We shared
years of love and laughter,
But now those
are all gone,
Time doesn't
wait for mortal man...
But
just keeps marching on.
