For all those
many years,
Our lives so
much were entwined...
With laughter and few
tears.
Never thinking
of the future,
Except
in obscure terms,
Thinking we
would be together...
With no bridges
left to burn.
We had no
indication,
There was a
greater plan,
One
that was God's own creation...
In which we had
no hand.
My heart is dark
and heavy,
For you were my
strength and light,
You sustained me
in the sunshine...
And lit up
my darkest night.
I know you're in
a better place,
No longer suffer
pain,
Please wait
until I join you there...
When we are
one again.

of my husband, Leonard O'Neil
