I miss
the season Christmas was,
Before it
went astray...
Became
commercial to the point,
It
lost meaning 'long the
way.
I don't do
Christmas near as well,
As I did years
ago...
When Christmas was
old-fashioned and
We had a lot of
snow.
Necessity
demands I shop,
Search fore the
perfect gift...
Then get them
out and to my car,
Including hard
to lift.
The presents
that I wrap these days,
Look like a
first attempt...
The paper is all
wrinkled,
And the corners
are all bent.
My eyes are
failing and that's why,
I cannot tie a
bow...
Arthritis grips my fingers
now,
Makes movement
of them slow.
Give me an
old-time Christmas,
Where all I
have to do...
Is identify
old Santa,
When he comes
sneaking through.
Give him a hug
and great big kiss,
Tell him he is a
dear...
Wish him a Merry
Christmas,
Thank him for
another Year.
