Who wants to read
poetry,
That dry, boring
stuff...
With words that are
flowery,
And all full of
fluff?
So you'd rather be
fishing,
Or out digging in the
dirt...
Working on a suntan gone
wrong,
That you know is
gonna hurt.
But you
might discover,
To your utter
surprise...
That a poem paints a
picture,
Full
of words sometimes wise.
There are poems that are
funny,
A few wring out the
tears...
Some are easily
forgotten,
While others stick for
years.
Don't knock it till you've
tried it,
Grit your teeth, dig right
in...
Poetry can take you far
away,
Then bring you back
again.
Poems don't have to be
boring,
But may be
instead...
Words that impress
you,
Then roll
'round' your head!
