Grandpa’s Teeth

I remember as a
child,
Sitting on Grandpa’s lap,
Comfy and sleepy,
And ready for my
nap.
I looked up at him,
With adoring eyes,
And that’s when
Grandpa
Showed me his surprise.
He opened his mouth,
And pushed out his
teeth,
Not the ones on top,
But the ones beneath
I remember I
screamed,
And fell to the floor,
As Grandpa laughed,
And did it some
more.
And it was quite a while,
Before I realized,
That they would not get
me,
It was only a surprise!
But I never quite trusted
My grandpa
again,
Unless his mouth was shut,
And his teeth were in!
