Just when I thought there
was a chance, Spring might have lost her way... She huffed and
puffed, and blew right in, Announcing she would
stay. Just when I was so very tired, Of winter and
its' cold... Spring arrived with a flourish, Brought colors
bright and bold. Trees that shivered for long months,
Because their limbs were bare... Now nudged by sun to show
off, The foliage they will wear. Spring carried
along with her, All things that I had missed... Green leaves
and splashy flowers, Earth warm like its' been
kissed. I hear the birds that have returned, Each
with their own sweet song... I realize how much I've missed
Those birds while they were gone. I love the feel
of green grass, Like carpet 'neath my feet... It's thirst just
quenched by shower, And warmed by sun's bright
heat. I'll enjoy each spring all I can, Till she is
forced to leave... When summer moves to take her place, And I
am left to grieve. Yet spring has left her
imprint, To show that she was there... She painted bright a
landscape, That once was brown and bare. (c)
