Just Being Me
For most of my years, I was bogged down,
There was no time for 'me',
My days and nights, were on 'demand'
All for my family.
I had no time to stop and think,
Too busy being Mom,
Until the day I looked around,
And all of them were gone.
I felt alone and wondered then,
At what should be my plan,
My hourglass was running low,
Time measured in its' sand.
I saw that it was much too late,
For me to do a lot,
The Golden Years were here and now,
No way they could be stopped.
The thoughts and feelings that I have,
I think I must have earned,
For those come from just being me,
And other lessons learned.
