LEGACY

There was a time not many years past,

When happy times prevailed;

When childhood games were everything,

Even the simple kites we sailed.

The dreams we had when we were young,

And many we made come true;

While others fell and were left to lay,

When we didn’t follow through.

But sadly now we realize,

The best years are long gone;

We’ve all grown up and filled life’s cup,

With things both right and wrong.

We can only hope that the legacy we leave,

Will stand the test of time;

So that when our life on earth is done,

We are remembered with words that are kind.
