The Marlboro Man

Have you reached the point in your life,

Where your wheels are spinning round?

When it’s hard to even get up,

Cause life has knocked you down?

Are you living in that special time,

When your hair has turned to gray,..

When each new pound that you put on,

Refuses to go way?

Do you think that string bikini

That’s hidden in your drawer,

Would look better on your Mother,

As she walks along the shore?

If it’s any consolation,

You surely are not alone,

For when we reach our Golden years,

Our wild oats are all sown.

I try to take it all in stride,

While doing the best I can,

To hold on to the love of my life,

That handsome Marlboro Man.

I have his picture in a frame,

Displayed for all to view…

And when they ask, ’Who IS that man?’

I say, ’Just someone I wish I knew.’
